Telegram .gram Bid Puts Domains on Clock

Pavel Durov said on August 18 that Telegram has applied for the .gram domain zone, a move that would turn a Telegram username into a possible second-level web address if ICANN approves the string.

The application is not approval. ICANN closed its 2026 new top-level-domain application window on August 12, and the public will not know which strings passed the administrative check until Reveal Day.

Durov's Pavel Durov post said Telegram had applied for .gram and that users could receive addresses such as yourname.gram if the application is approved by ICANN. He also said Telegram-hosted interactive websites could be created from one prompt.
